School Profile

Portarlington Primary School is situated on the north-east corner of the Bellarine Peninsula, 34 Kilometres from Geelong.

Nestled on the North Eastern Coastline of the Bellarine Peninsula with a northward facing aspect, the town commands panoramic views across the bay to Melbourne.

With a safe beach and rolling parklands, the town offers a relaxed lifestyle with excellent recreational, social and sporting facilities. The town currently has a stable, predominantly elderly population, which is reflected in the enrolment trends of the school, although quite recently subdivisions have caused an increase in the school population.

New and established families who have children at the school recognise that Portarlington provides a wonderful environment for the growth and development of young children.

The school numbers demand flexible grouping strategies and composite classes are organised to cater for children's needs. Children with special needs are currently catered for in the integration program. Individual learning programs are planned and developed by classroom teachers and integration aides.
